Telephone counselling can be considered to
be, apart from video counselling, the next
best thing to face to face counselling. Although
the client is obviously unable to see the
counsellor, they can relate to the counsellor
by the sound of their voice. This allows
a connection which is not possible by say
text or email.
However, at the same time, it also enables
the client to have anonymity.
It is also a more convenient way to obtain
counselling, due to less boundaries and being
able to talk more whilst on the move.
This enables a person to be able to take
the first step towards help a lot more easily,
and feel more positive.
Telephone counselling may not be suitable
for all issues, so this will need to be discussed.
